Completed Projects

Check out our recent projects to see how we are improving the community one greenspace at a time.

Irmo Veterans Park

Irmo Veterans Park was developed by Irmo Town Council and the Irmo Arbor Day Committee to honor veterans in the Irmo community.  Located off St. Andrews Road, the park is the perfect place for fresh air, exercise, and reflection.

Hollywood by the Lake

In coordination with Irmo Arbor Day Committee and the Michael J. Mungo Foundation, The Lower Saluda Greenway Initiative planned and landscaped an entrance to the Hollywood by the Lake community at the corner of River Road and North Lake Boulevard to honor Pat and Johnny Jeffcoat for their contributions to our community. The project features ten beautiful palm trees lining the road with upward lighting installed at each tree, and new signage constructed near Highway 6 with evergreen shrubbery planted to complement the design.

St. Andrews Road

Irmo Arbor Day partnered with the Michael J. Mungo Foundation to landscape the property adjacent to Shaw Industries on St. Andrews Road.  Keep the Midlands Beautiful and TD Bank partnered by providing and planting magnolia trees and kaleidoscope abelias that will deter littering and boost nearby property values.

Saluda Shoals at Bush River Road

Irmo Arbor Day partnered with the Michael J. Mungo Foundation to landscape the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission’s property across from Saluda Shoals in honor of Elizabeth B. Taylor, ICRC’s retired Executive Director.  Landscape easements from adjacent property were obtained to create a larger landscaped area.  Keep the Midlands Beautiful and TD Bank partnered by providing and planting the 31 crepe myrtles along Kiawah Road.
